The 2020-2021 Water Data Challenge focuses on open data to collectively assess what we know and prepare for a more resilient future. The Data Challenge is open to all. Individuals and teams are encouraged to design, develop, and extend open data projects addressing some of the state and region’s most pressing issues.Themes include: Identifying and Understanding What Makes Communities Vulnerable; Analyzing the Impacts of Natural Resource Regulations and Policy; Strengthening Data-Enabled Communication: Building Awareness and Engagement; Improving the Quality and Usability of Our Data and Metadata; projects related to COVID-19; and Streamlining Data Workflows. This year for the first time, New Mexico’s open water data stewards are excited to have mentored participants alongside our California open water data colleagues.
